In early December 2008, this 24-year-old girl (who has since turned 25) decided to work against her natural couch potato tendencies and make a drastic change in her life.  She signed up to train for a triathlon.

This blog will, hopefully, be an account of that training process.  It will document the ups (hopefully) and the downs (definitely).  It will attempt help keep her accountable to others, act as a fundraising tool, and possible entertain her friends, family, and strangers as she does something completely outside of her comfort-zone.

Occasionally, the blog may also act as a forum for other interests, such as museum and gallery exhibitions, decorating and re-decorating, and crafting.  Because those things are very much inside her comfort-zone.  And we don’t want to stretch ourselves all the time, now do we?

The photographs above, while I would love to take credit for them, are all from museum collections.  They are, from left to right, by: Melissa Ann Pinney, William Eggleston, and Martin Munkácsi.
